2009 Dauphine Libere – Stage 5 Odds
The fearsome Mont Ventoux looms large on Stage five of the Dauphine Libere. Can Contador resist the temptation to go full throttle on this stage given the two upcoming monsters? Cadel Evans looks to be in good form but neither rider will want to extend themselves too far in this pre-Tour warm-up. Valverde looks likely to miss the Tour de France and will be going for the win in this race but the longs climbs don’t necessarily suit Spaniard. We go for Robert Gesink who has the climbing ability to cope with the length of Mont Ventoux and the speed to get away from the likes of Evans and Valverde. Contador is the wild card and is favourite to take the stage but at 2.50 seems not great value.
Velotips goes for Robert Gesink to win Stage Five of Dauphine Libere
