Finally we have one bookmaker who has put up 2008 Tour de France Stage One odds, from Sportingbet. The betting is very interesting and has a number of leading overall general classification contenders as favourites to win stage one. Remember there is no prologue this year, we are straight into the bunch racing.

Valverde is favourite to take the stage at 3.00, with Damiano Cunego second favourite at 7.50 and Kim Kirchen third at 8.00.

Velotips sees Valverde being up close to the front on this stage but not wanting to spend too much energy for the stage win and the Yellow Jersey. We advise to place a bet on Riccardo Ricco at 8.00, he has a lot to prove in his first Tour and will be itching to get a Stage win under his belt.
